Our work

City to City, People to People

Bridging new friendships between cities across the world.

In 1945, the town of Westport, Connecticut, USA, partnered with Marigny, France, to help rebuild after the destruction it suffered during World War II. Through this partnership, Westport’s generosity enabled Marigny to rebuild schools, municipal buildings, and the town square. This friendship has lasted to this day.

In 2022, the residents of Westport and Marigny extended their support to a new friend in need: Lyman, Ukraine. This was the beginning of a movement that is now connecting the cities across the world with Ukraine’s most devastated communities. Ensuring Ukrainians don’t just survive the war, but can rebuild a community where they will thrive.

MISSION

To provide resilient and sustainable aid to communities in need.

VISION

To connect people from around the world through mutual support.

HELP UKRAINIANS LIVE AND THRIVE

Our core values

Last mile

All aid is delivered by our team, partners, and volunteers to our front line Friendship Cities.

CIVILIAN ONLY

We only deliver humanitarian, non-military aid to civilians and civilian leadership.

SAFETY FIRST

Our top priority on all missions is the safety and protection of civilians and our team.

ACCOUNTABILITY & ANTI-CORRUPTION

We review our operations and partners carefully to ensure aid is always handed directly to civilians

Friendship cities

Directly engage your town, city, or community, to support Ukraine.

The aid we deliver is entirely community collected, either as in-kind donations like firefighter gear, chrome books, and school supplies, or as donations that can be spent on locally procured vehicles for evacuation and clean up.

Our Friendship Cities collect aid in their community, and UAI does the complicated job of delivering it across the world to our Ukrainian neighbors.
