Meeting with the Council of Community Leaders and the Mayor of Lyman

On the 28th of Feb, UAI embarked on another mission to Lyman. Our team visited the local hospital to gain firsthand insights into the pressing needs of the community. Our interactions with the hospital staff and patients shed light on the challenges they face daily.

In our pursuit to bring positive change, we witnessed the resilience and determination of the healthcare workers who strive to provide quality care despite limited resources. However, their needs are immense, ranging from medical equipment and supplies to improved infrastructure. It became abundantly clear that our support is critical in empowering the hospital to better serve the people of Lyman.

In collaboration with Westport, Lyman’s sister city, we met a family who had experienced great hardship when their home was devastated by a natural disaster. Thanks to the compassionate efforts of the Westport community, the family’s house had been rebuilt, allowing them to rebuild their lives.

However, as we engaged in conversation, we discovered additional needs that were yet to be met. The family expressed their lack of basic household items such as dishes and bedsheets. Without hesitation,

Ukraine Aid International provided them with these essential items, realizing that even seemingly small gestures can bring immense relief and comfort to those in need.

As we delved deeper into Lyman’s challenges, we learned about the town’s agricultural aspirations and their pressing need for seeds. Meeting with the Mayor of Lyman and the Council of Community Leaders, we gained a comprehensive understanding of the importance of sustainable farming and food security for the people in this community.

They emphasized the significance of providing seeds to the farmers, enabling them to cultivate diverse crops, enhance agricultural productivity, and ultimately secure the town’s food supply.

The Council’s unwavering dedication to the well-being of Lyman inspires us to take action and mobilize support to fulfill this critical need. UAI is calling upon compassionate individuals like you to join us in supporting the resilient community of Lyman.
