UAI staff headed out to Siversk to speak with locals and take account of the recent and ongoing damages the city is experiencing. A fallen college, a closed up medical facility, and numerous beaten down buildings across the city serve as the backdrop for the civilians still living there.

As a front line community, Siversk has been without electricity and gas for 2 years. The Mayor, Alexei Vorobyov works hard to ensure that each family has a generator, communal workers receive their salaries, and the community remains steadfast in their strength and perseverance.

He even delivered sweets once a week to the people, along with monthly toiletries. On their first call with Mayor Samantha Nestor of Weston it is expressed that the biggest need to better manage the removal of trash. With a small network of workers, and no proper trash truck, there are fears for hygiene and health as waste piles up.
